Some Exiting Facts About Kabir Bedi

  • His father Baba Pyare Lal Singh Bedi was an author and philosopher. Kabir’s mother, Freda Bedi, a British woman born in Derby, England, was the first western woman to become a Tibetan Buddhist nun.
  • Siddharth Bedi, Kabir Bedi’s son was suffering from schizophrenia, and he committed suicide at the young age of 26.
  • In the James Bond film ‘Octopussy’ (1983), he played the villains aide, Gobinda. He was the first Bollywood actor who appeared in a James Bond movie as a villain.
  • He also featured in the popular American TV show ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ as Prince Omar Rashid for over a year.
  • Kabir Bedi was bestowed with the title of Cavaliere (Knight) of the ‘Ordine al Merito Della Repubblica Italiana’, the highest ranking civilian honor given by the Italian Republic.
  • Kabir has been married four times. He wed Parveen Dusanj a day before his 70th birthday. Notably, Parveen, 42, is four years younger than Kabir’s daughter Pooja Bedi.
